About Peter Prideaux

Peter Prideaux served as a Prison Officer at Pentridge between 1984 and 1997. He was the first officer in Victoria who went directly into H-Division from the training academy and is credited with setting up emergency response units for the Prison.

Inside the Prison, the working relationship between officer and prisoner was often complex and during Peter’s time he became friends with the late Mark ‘Chopper’ Read when Read served time at Pentridge in the 1980s – even speaking at Read’s funeral.
